We can not beat this virus and to continue to lock down forever is infeasible. Covid19 only kills a small percentage of the old and frail.
The under reporting while in lock down of the huge increase in domestic violence's, marriages destroyed, mental health breakdowns and youth suicided in these times is what worries me most.
How many old people dying of Covid19 are worth one healthy 20 year old at the start of their life suiciding?
The Devils arithmetic is brutal but necessary
IMO if we don't use this arithmetic in our response now it will be done in the future looking back as part of history and judged badly.
