I'm sure it's all in jest, but we have to keep it real here.

From what I've heard, Blamore was always the most likely oil find for ctp, so 2 billion, 5 billion, 5000000000 billion barrels of oil (if in place) means little at this stage.

I recall a well being drilled (not by ctp) on the Yorke Pen (SA) with a target of 150 - 400 million barrels (if oil in place). No oil was found!

As I said once before, because of the large amount of data available for the Cooper Basin, geologists can fairly easily suggest a target range (of say 1m to 2m barrels). If there was no data available, then geologists could argue there is up to 200m barrels.

So what I'm trying to say is don't get tooooooo excited by big multi-million barrel wells by consultants or geologists. All that tells you is there is a lack of information about those structures.

BUT, it might be there!

ps. I never heard back from my santos mate, but he should be back this week. Somebody asked his base. It is Adelaide, but he spends most of his time up at some gas field on a PEL near to ctp's.
