Real cost to HAL is porbably alot less than $5mil as they get the fracking cost wholesale and to blow a few mil is small bikies for them especially if the play will pay eventually.

So at a rough guess 2mil to drill and 3mil to frac. Cost to HAL of 2mil +1.5mil using 100% mark up =3.5mil.

Time will tell but I guess I'm just a bit overly optimistic and thats probably why I started buying in at 3.8c on the heads.

Logic tells me that if defender was such a dud they would have given up on it a long time ago and I also think the delay in news means it's a better than even money bet that HAL will continue.
