The above post is without a doubt the most interesting and provocative I have read since this debacle began yesterday morning.
This tidbit from Metabolic's announcement:
"Secondary endpoints: ... BODY FAT reduction assessed by whole body DEXA scans..."
This from the "Radiology Info" website:
"Bone density scanning, also called dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA or DEXA) or bone densitometry, is an enhanced form of x-ray technology that is used to measure bone loss. DEXA is today's established standard for measuring bone mineral density (BMD)."
Now, whole body DEXA scans can and are used to determine other aspects of body composition in addition to bone density, such as lean body mass, fat, etc., so Metabolic may be quite truthful to say that they used DEXA scans for such a purpose. But, bone density measurements would be easily obtained simultaneously.
Metabolic is very likely sitting on data showing the effect of low-dose AOD9604 on bone mass in various age/gender populations right now.
And, as is pointed out above, such data would not be relevant to use of AOD9604 in the treatment of obesity.
The above post is without a doubt the most interesting and...
