where i live it is the landlord that cause of them shutting there business. They jack the rent up so high. That when the business does there numbers to see if they can do a return. It works out no. Its not worth operating to pay just the rent.
Sad thing is i lost my fave breakfast place because of this. They had been there 15 yrs and the landlord refused to negotiate with them on the price.
The shops are still empty.
