Dragon Oil apparently wants more involvement in Eastern Africa and said romour are they are looking at Tanzania.
Perhaps a farmin with give you one guess!
Small piece of news....
"UAE Investors Placing Bets on East African Oil
Monday, December 23, 2013
Emirati companies are venturing into East Africa with Mubadala Petroleum planning an exploration campaign in Tanzania in 2014 and Dragon Oil also looking to expand its presence in the region. Now Abu Dhabi financier, Hayaat Group, has announced that it purchased a minority stake in an East African oil explorer, totaling around $3 million.
Hayaat has acquired a 9.5% equity stake in Swala Energy, an Australian oil and gas firm with assets in Kenya and Tanzania. The hydrocarbon company holds production licenses for an area totaling 15,000 sq km in East Africa."
AND not to forget BG has announced another super find of GAS
in its third successful well drilling of the coast of Tanzania.
This find will make BG the highest gas producer in region off Tanzanian coast. Interesting!
Tanzania being relatively unexplored on land is drawing considerable interest with all the offshore discoveries and the African rift valley still one of the BIGGEST WILDCARD OIL regions in Africa running from Djibouti, Ethiopia, Uganda-Kenya and through to Tanzania.
Wait and see what Dragons wants to do with now a couple of billion dollars in its kitty and very keen to top 100000 barrels of oil a day very soon.
I'm thinking also that DGO will announce a free rig very soonfrom its Caspian Sea sites. Perhaps this may be heading to HW3 soon, but for now I (we all) think DGO will be the major OPERATOR now for HW3.
They have all the experience.
For now how hungary are they to get back to HW3 and start testing the oil flow properly.
Jacka Resources (ASX: JKA) has been formally awarded the production sharing agreement for the Ruhuhu Block in southwestern Tanzania and will start exploration work immediately? (This article wasreleased on 30th March 2013.
JKA have made claimed to a number of potential farmins for this block so maybe not far away from some connecting news (maybe with DGO?).
