I think the main attraction for GOR would be that the cash in their bank balance is starting to burn a hole in their pocket. Coupled with their lackluster exploration performance they would feel the pressure to make a move on something and get something to happen. DEG will certainly not be their next tier 1 gold mine, Hemi is way too big for them. After GOR pays for DGO, there will not be a lot of cash left and they'll have to build the bank balance back up.
