TULKARM, West Bank, Dec 29 (Reuters) - Israeli forces shot
and killed an 11-year-old Palestinian boy in the West Bank city
of Tulkarm on Sunday, witnesses and medical workers said.
They said Abdel-Karim Salameh was hit in the head by
machinegun fire as an Israeli tank and three jeeps passed
through the eastern sector of the city.
The witnesses and medics said the shooting was unprovoked
and that a 13-year-old boy was wounded in the incident. The
Israeli army had no immediate comment.
Israeli troops entered most of West Bank cities in June
following a spate of Palestinian suicide bombings in Israel.
On Saturday, Israeli soldiers shot dead a nine-year-old girl
outside her home in the Gaza town of Khan Younis, Palestinian
    security sources said.
Israeli military sources said troops in the area had been
shot at and returned fire, but could not say if they had hit
    anyone.
At least 1,750 Palestinians and 675 Israelis have been
killed since a Palestinian uprising for independence began in
September 2000 when peace talks failed.
