A.D.M. ( Argyle diamond mine ) had a contract with Ansett flyin -out from Perth until Ansett went belly-up, so we were all in all sorts of much much smaller aircraft , sometimes stopping 6 times b4 ADM , including Tomprice , until management and Qantas gave us direct flights.
I remember we had an hour or so to kill at Tomprice. It was monsoon season and , being the Pilbara , it had missed it completely , though u get the cyclones and much further down sporadically with deadly force.. It was just so hot and barren . At least in the Kimberley's we got some respite from the heat during the wet.
Who was that person then i call me now ??????

was 19 when I went up there saved no money had a fat old time though real eye opener for a country boy trust me plenty of union unrest back then ah memories ended up a shop steward for the awu wild old times jmt
