Diary of a pom in W.A, page-9

As a student I worked in Newman 2 summer vacations an in Port Hedland for another 2 summers, back in the early 70s.
Been thru heat (>43C), monsoon rains dogs and cats, iron ore dirt dust at work and dust storms, cyclone June, air conditioner problems (lucky did not have to pay for repair since living in SMQ or construction camp).
Earn enough money to support me thru half academic year.
Meeting and working with great work mates.

I miss the Pilbara of WA and want to go back there for another summer but don't know how since I am in the ACT atm.
