Zircon prices in China could keep rising amid shortage concerns, linked to the recent shutdown of Rio Tinto's Richards Bay operations, Morgan Stanley says. While Rio Tinto recently announced a restart of those operations, "with limited to no sources of additional zircon supply the market is expected to remain tight over the next three months," MS says. The Chinese high-grade zircon price is about $2,570/ton and could rise a further $230-$385/ton over the coming three months.
