ddzz halal is not nonsense. It's a simple commercial decision a company can chose if it wishes to make its products acceptable to a wider audience, in this case practicing Muslims.
In my own company, I chose to register with an organic certifying organization. I pay their fee, they inspect me and allow me to use their "bud" logo on our products. Thus, customers seeking an assurance that our product complies with certain health requirements can feel confident in purchasing from us. My compnay absorbs the registration cost and benefits from wider sales. A simple commercial decision.
Halal registration is no different.
