Dick Smith???

Could today's weakness be a result of Dick Smiths' poor results?

The market could be factoring this in but the reason for DS downtrend is also the reason why I find TRS a compelling retailer to hold. In fact, Dick Smiths' demise along with other retailers could actually be beneficial to TRS.

The main logic is that much of what TRS sells is not really right for online sales en masse. Conversely, you can save real dollars by buying electronics online. Less competition by retailers should feed through into lower rents for TRS stores.

Also, with an economy slowing, TRS may find they have more customers not less.
