decadon, the CEO has been pretty justified to be upbeat since listing, with his business growing at a very nice clip.
He is actually very muted in his presentations at the AGM, last year when the share price was in the 40c range he said 'that seems about right'. This year, he said 'the share price is going very well'. He noted that only about half of the new 5000sqm of warehouse is being fully utilised presently, so there will be further room for growth even on this years numbers. He also noted there is sufficient room to add a 3rd 5000sqm of warehouse space in the future should the need arise.
Based on the recent and likely future growth profile, it is hard to imagine Dicker won't deliver above market returns for a while yet, though continued inventory expansion (a result of rapid growth) will likely result in muted operating cashflow again this year.
I agree that it is generally preferable to receive gains in the form of capital growth, but Dave Dicker's justification here is again disarmingly simple, that a business exists to return money to its owners. It would be nice if more CEO's kept that in mind - Eternalgrowth
