Yeah I saw sixty minutes and was utterly appalled with what Shell is doing with oil sands in Canada. Pretty disappointing that Liam Bartlett didn't go more into enviromental damage and what sort of Carbon Footprint that place must be leaving. 4000 square kilometers of forest to be eventually removed as well!
After watching that show I think I will be shopping for petrol at non-shell petrol stations. Shell support this sort of enviromental vandalism and should be held liable to all damages...but then Liam didnt really pursue that side of the project so without further research, I dont know what their obligations are. 1 square kilometer rehabilitated in thirty years, one comes to the opinion they must not be doing much about the enviromental side of things.
Anyway UCG is clearly a cleaner alternative to either of Shale oil or oil sands. Lets hope Linc shows the world how viable it is. I do know one thing...I will sleep well at night holding shares in a company that does try to be a solution to the oil crisis in a cleaner more enviromental way.
Not chasing a green arguement, thats my own opinion on Linc, not a professional opinion. Boh! to sixty minutes for not chasing that oil sands production down for what it is...
