From what I can glean from the guys, the Chinese think they're great.
For them, its all about brands.
They want everything with a "label":
Gucci, Rolex, Ralph Lauren, Prada, BMW, Chanel, Penfolds Grange, Gant....etc etc.
Vmoto does not carry the same prestige (yet), but we are considered a Western label nevertheless and I believe to be seen riding one of our scooters, still holds pretty good local peer cred.
