I suggested to local Councillor an inexpensive solution to ease chronic traffic congestion. Included google maps image to illustrate distances, alignment etc. Would require some cooperation between Council and Main Roads.
Local Councillor took it to Chief Operating Officer who thought it was a great idea and called personally to say he was taking it to district Main Roads boss.
A Main Roads engineer later emailed me to inform "that would be too simple and they were seeking a more expensive solution".
Chronic traffic congestion unchanged several years later. I am sure engineers deserve much of the ribbing they get.
