Interesting that Jesus spoke more about avoiding hell than He did about gaining heaven. HE can to pay the price for the wages of our sin. weather we like it or not actions do have consequences. Try screaming at your wife you'll see what I mean (but dont do that ay) about cosequences. We have all inherited a nature that leans toward doing wrong even when we don't want. to. Jesus can not only to bear the consequences of that sin but give us His nature to live above it, and if we fall He is "there to lift us up again" so to speak. If we choose to reject that then we are left to the consequences of our sin after we die. God is not wiilling that any should perish but that all should have eternal life and not the alternative.
