Li is very much supported by popular demand as it has become the consumers' darling product, thanks largely to Tesla's marketing. but the point you raise is why I suggested you have a look at Energy Renaissance. they restrict Li runaway by inserting each individual cell in a ceramic pot to isolate the risk of combustion.

I'm personally uncommitted to any tech and don't as yet have storage tech..... I'm waiting to see how hydrogen storage develops over the next few years.

storage is a significant investment for me and I'm happy to wait until the tech is looking better developed.
