Cherry picks a chart that makes his story look more exciting.
No doubt he used to put a pair of explorers down his pants back in the day as well.
He forget's that we have a national grid, not a Victorian one. Which means we can get lovely renewable generation from all over the east coast and even from SA.
Here's a chart from 3.30pm today.
Note the percentage of renewables in the east coast grid. Note the output of solar. Little junior solar still in nappies is producing 2/3rds of the amount that Victorian brown coal is. Victorian brown coal that was built 50 years ago. Billions in today's equivalent of tax payer money invested into all those power stations over decades.
And yet, here we are with our little, infant solar power system that has only been around for a few years which is starting to match the whole of the Victorian brown coal output. Imagine how good that solar power will be in a few years ? Especially when we have the ability to store it.
