I was always confident we'd hot it big in Senegal but my biggest concern was that we may hit heavy oil like Dome Flore (in AGC) 800 mill boe discovery of 10 - 13 API oil. It's been fantastic news that the SEN appraial wells have been consistent at 32 API. I also think this was the main reason FAR/COP/CNE drilled FAN 1 first to the north as Hardman hit light oil in Mauritania. SNE 1 was riskier as it was further to the south and closer to Dome Flore. The SNE 1 results (light oil) also fives be greater confidence that the Southern FAN will hold light oil as well and I do think it will be drilled given the high amplitues shown on the 3D at the time.

Also interesting that in the shallower water east of the Dome Flore initial discovery light 30 -35 degree oil was discovered in only 50m of water.

This bodes well with FAR's lightly discussed acquisition of the Djiffere block . IMO this is the ace that FAR is holding up it's sleeve and if oil migration is proven in the Buried Hill prospect than FAR's 75% stake could be very lucrative to shareholders. Can't wait to see the results of the 3D data shot recently on Djiffere as CN will be in a great position to negotiate a lot better deal for share holders when farming out, given the leverage she will have from SNE 1.
