Last night at 1:30am, within half an hour Comex gold future was slamed down $25 with 36.46k contract sold. That's 3,646,000 oz, 1139 ton of gold. This is again not a normal trading pattern. Looks like another naked short as before. It was said Basel iii was supposed to be finally implemented on 1/01/2023, which requires bullion banks to have minimum 80% of physical gold holding. I searched on web including basel website but so far hasn't seen any message that the implementation deadline was delayed again. Do anyone knows what's the real status of Basel iii?
Also, WAF reported short positions kept going lower, either from report of ASIC or ASX. However, given the recent radical price drop but just average trading volumes, I feel like it's not due to large holder exiting, instead, due to unreported shorting, which is uncompliant to ASIC rules.
