pioupiou- what you must remember is that you have the "left" now politically in total control on both sides competing with the whims of greens.
in other words, Radio Rentals could easily be proven to be operating outside the law with their over inflated product prices.
you see, the whole problem with TGA is that Thorn would have to justify the retail price they charge, as it deals with "vulnerables" in our society.
the obvious threat is a change to the existing legislation which is on the cards.
that said, i do not think the government is worried that if Thorn goes, all hell will break lose.
the reason is quite simple- just as an example, here in QLD , we have a significant electrical retailer, who has a vast range of product at very competitive prices to buy, but you can rent/buy as well ,over varying timeframes up to 48 months, with the actual cost in rent/buy strictly at 48% cap on their advertised product prices for sale, which are cheap anyway.
and the difference to total payout for the goods is quite astonishing compared to Thorn.

personally, my gut feeling is that Thorn's days are numbered, as you yourself already know, but just 'milk" it for what it"s worth in the interim.

    cheers crazypunter
