I think if one looks around the world today you would have to conclude we are in a pre world war period like the early 1900's or the 1930's. WW1 was about which nation or bloc of nations would dominate Europe. WW2 was about dominating the world economy. Despite the USA "winning" the problem remains unresolved.

The world economy dominates over all the nation states but the world economy demands to be unified . Under capitalism they try to resolve it through war. Socialism wants to unify the world economy by abolishing the nation state boundaries, just like capitalism abolished feudalism.

So all those who push for national boundaries, borders, fences, walls, "border forces" , checkpoints, internment camps, the anti refugee nutters, the racists, the islamaphobes, the anti semites etc etc are all just smoothing the way for war.

The ME and the South China Sea are the immediate flashpoints, but where it starts, between which bloc of nations, is not decided yet. But most importantly, above all else, is what is the working class going to do ? Be divided or unite ?
