Well while the article you have pasted there is from the Manilla Times and dated May 8th it is not indicating and further steps beyond what was being indicated a couple of weeks ago. Whate was being said a few weeks ago was that :
- Negotiations over the new FTAA by the agencies required by the Office of the President to do the task had reached an agreement with OGC
- The new FTAA had to be officially signed off by Secretary Roy Cimatu of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)
- Then it had to be sent to the Office of the President
- Then President Duterte has to officially sign it
- Then OGC can get started on the process of re-activating Didipio
Should be pretty straight forward. But there are not many straight forward situations in the Philippines it would seem. Here we are at May 10. Will we see the task completed by the end of May ? I am beginning to think we might be pushing it to even have it completed by the end of June. SIGH !
