I am actually more bullish about CWE's prospects as a microgrid...

I am actually more bullish about CWE's prospects as a microgrid company than I am for commercial wave energy, at least in the short term. However, this community only has 70 residents, which makes it a bit too small for the types of projects that CWE would be taking on, I would think.

I would think communities of 1000 residents plus would be needed to make it worth the while for projects of the type CWE would be interested in.

Up until a few years ago, I was a paramedic in Queensland. My last few years in the service were spent in remote communities in Queensland at indigenous communities not unlike this First Nation community in Canada. The only difference being that they had larger populations, usually about 1500 or more.

Some of the places I worked at were places like Mornington Island in the Gulf of Carpentaria and nearby Doomadgee. Also Bamaga on the northern tip of Cape York and Thursday Island in the Torres Strait.

At the time, diesel fuel generation was the only means of producing electricity. The power stations ran 24 hours a day and consumed huge amounts of diesel. I believe solar power has gradually been introduced since to reduce diesel consumption. The cost of getting diesel fuel to these places was astronomical. So high was the cost, it required state government subsidies to make it possible.

There are literally hundreds of these communities spread throughout Australia and many thousands more in North America, South America, Africa and Asia. CWE could build it's business just on remote and edge of the grid microgrids if it chose to.

Of course many of these communities do not have a nearby wave resource. CWE's business model, is sufficiently flexible to allow just about any type of renewable to be used. If they get it right, this side of the business could take off.
