Stevo - I feel like I'm about to post something really stupid here but isn't our bid rumoured to be $1.5B and made at a time when oil was $40 a barrel and plummeting?
Doesn't seem much of a bargain unless the price is at the lower end of the range quoted in this article.
"Neither Karoon nor Petrobras gave any indication of the likely price, and sources pointed to a potential range of between $US2.20 a barrel as in Woodside Petroleum's recent acquisition in Senegal to up to $US10 a barrel. That would signal a deal price of between $US770 million ($1 billion) and $US2.3 billion."
