A portion of the Tumen River is the boundary between China and North Korea. There is a rail bridge which crosses the Tumen river from China into North Korea. Part of the bridge which is on the Chinese side of the river is well maintained and the steel is protected by a new paint layer. The part of the bridge which is on the North Korean side is not maintained and the steel is rusting. Evidently the political leaders in North Korea cannot understand the need for adequate maintenance of their equipment.
