As far as I can tell the risk with hard rock deposits relates to ability to separate spod from iron during processing. Every deposit has this risk, but those with an increased number of intersections of spod/waste rock will be exposed to the risk to a higher degree.
You then have to consider (as far as I can tell - keeping in mind I’m not a Geo) the amount of contaminants (iron) in the surrounding waste rock and it would seem as though Lithium Valley in Brazil contains fairly low levels.
Very different equation compared to WA where iron contents can be extremely high.
For me, this is not a particular risk I’m concerned about but worth keeping in mind this is a risk for every single hard rock deposit which is at the stage of transitioning from developer to producer.
Btw here is a PLS cross section - they are producing just fine - and the geology looks quite similar to Colina (stacked, thinner).
