The problem is not Iran; the problem is Netanyahu.
He has a lot of domestic problems, the Gaza war is a PR disaster, and he desperately needs a distraction.
A war with a big enemy is just the ticket to make Israel into the "victim" again and him the valiant defender.
It doesn't matter what the US wants or demands from Israel.
Israel knows who is boss in that relationship and openly brags about it.
Wall St also knows who is boss in that relationship; hence they will be watching Tel Aviv, not Washington, to see the next move.
