It remains to be seen but it is possible that Direct Action could work in favour of CWE.

Unlike the wind industry, we have not heard anything negative coming from the government about the wave energy industry.

I don't know of anyone who fully understands how Direct Action will actually work but I understand that they will try to pick winners. It is unlikely that they will be able to meet Australia's commitment to reduce emissions by 5% by 2020.

In CWE's favour, is that the WA LNP government has skin in the game. It would not help their chances of reelection if the Federal Government forced CWE overseas to commercialise a technology that was born and bred in WA.
