Writer, I agree; it is hard to work out how this will all end, but clearly Scanlon et al have fast forwarded the China exercise for all parties concerned.
My concern would be if CUS took their eye off the ball re Australia and NZ in order to accomodate Scanlon's passion for all things chinese.
We have a comanding position in the local ATM market with a state of the art payment processing system in SPS, good organic growth prospects in NZ esp., coupled with a strong desire by the RBA for direct charging to be introduced by Aug....or at the very least, the ability for ATM operators to charge whatever they want/can for their services, like any other business in Australia.
Lets see Tim Wildash weave his magic over the local market before playing the old "if every chinaman had an ATM card" game.
I would love to see them go huge in Asia as much as the next shareholder, but not at the cost of getting a lower risk and just as lucrative local market, right.
BTW...well done in the Rugby...you'll keep!!!
