There is a form of legal 'insider knowledge' and that pertains to capital raisings.
Discussions with brokers by the company, and in turn discussions with brokers with their SI clients, are perfectly legal. Yes this knowledge does convey an unfair advantage to some at the expense of others which is why a 15% limit is imposed on such raisings yearly unless shareholders approve otherwise.
Such legal 'insider knowledge' discussions can occur with or withot any TH or ASX announcements at all before they are a done deal, and indeed during a TH period as well.
Purpose of the stock market existence is to enable the raising of capital .... not to make you rich!
