It's a cross trade done by the same broker.
an example might be if you and i had the same broker and you wanted to sell and i wanted to buy, then we essentially cross over the shares and split the spread. broker wimns with commissions on each side.
another example might be someone who wants to move holdings from their personal name into their self managed super fund and that transaction is undertaken by the same broker and they want to do it at a price between the buy and sell spread
