Yes the appointment is good, but I mean look at GJ's track record its excellenet as well. We already had an iron ore great/elder. However a new appointment does aid to Karara being a "goer".

I'm considering applying for GBG myself once I finish my EBA module and obtain my CA very shortly. They will be hiring a lot of young professions within the next year or so, and a lot of great opportunities for early employees into the GBG iron ore force.
