From what I've read - they have to buy at least 2-3 weeks before any announcement is made. But yes there would be trouble if he brought now, and announcement came out tomorrow.

Which is why I don't think it will. Fox normally releases announcements towards the end of each quarter, if not in theri quarterly reports. Makes me think an announcement is a while away yet.

However it also makes me think that he may also be proping up the SP to get closer to the Chineses option excise price (possibly for more cash now - if they exercise them early), or maybe he is buying to develop a blocking position to any potential take-over.

Who really knows, unless you ring and ask. I don't cause I'm happy to wait :)
