You have a gripe with X or Y and they weigh up how much they can get in fees.
They then widen the opposing clients to allow time, anger, grievances to manufacture more fees.
Then as the money starts to run out they change tactics and bring the parties closer together painting a different picture or uncertainty.
So in short, a lawyers timeline:
"You have a good case" "They aren't entitled to anywhere near what they're claiming" "We have their measure" "We have judge XYZ. Are you sure you want to risk a bad ruling?" "Maybe it's best just to settle?" "You owe us $$$$$" "Thank you and call us again".
But boys and girls, just remember. "Justice" has nothing to do with the "Legal" system. If you want justice you best pursue it yourself.
