I went to ASIC. There process is as follows:
1. They assess your complaint to determine whether the company has a case to answer - up to 28 days
2. If they decide to proceed, investigation can take up to 60 days.
They have acknowledged the complaint but have yet to advise on the status. Turnaround time can be up to 90 days.
I have altered them to over two years of reporting inconsistencies and inaccuracies. I have also highlighted examples of variances in projected and actual cash outflows without explanation. It is not unreasonable to expect an organisation to explain why an estimated $2M outflow for the March Q2008 becomes $11M, a 400% unfavourable variance. Price sensitive I would have thought for an organisation of this size.
We'll see what ASIC does.
