I agree with resourced analysis.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but I don't think some posters appreciate that posting on HC is 'publication' every bit as much as if it was in the newspaper. If you make statements, or statements containing imputations which are defamatory to identified individuals you have to be able to prove their truth or you are potentially in a spot of legal bother. While you cannot defame a larger company, you can defame individual officeholders who are the public face of the company.
Nick C would probably not find it worth his while to litigate, but...I probably wouldn't press the point, just quietly.
Corrections, clarifications and retractions can be a rather good idea, especially in the sober cold hard light of day.
