I also disagree with wasting the time, effort and paper of a shareholder resolution for something you don't even know the directors want. It's a lovely gesture but why go through the pain of doing something for no identifiable reason.
The idea comes from the viewpoint that offering more shares to the 3 directors is a reward but capital raisings are not meant to be a reward. They are there to raise capital and that's that - they are not a gift or a gesture. Besides, is it really rewarding to be told as a director "we want you to put money into the hat"?
I think not.
If you want to reward them with something then, as I said, support the idea of reinstating the pre-austerity director's fees and cancel the remaining shortfall.
