According to his last change of interest notice he held 80 million shares. The only holder listed in the top 20 close to that amount is Merrill Lynch nominees at 50 million. The Merrill ann on 2nd November referred to 80 million shares as "collateral". The corresponding announcement on 24th December (of all days) showed that amount had been reduced and had a number of stock lending and borrowing transactions on it.

If he still holds 80 million shares - why doesn't the top 20 reflect this? Very mysterious. I no longer hold. Though it killed me to have to sell (at a loss) while shorts still needed covering I also figured that perhaps yesterday's new issue will be used to return borrowed stock and the short cover may never happen on-market?

Too much missing information for the average punter to stand a fair chance, seems to be controlled by traders with inside knowledge.
