    Beat, you would know the figures better than I but the standard hourly rate for a worker must be adjusted by 30% or so to include, holiday pay, sickies, long service and all other "add-on" costs. So time and a half for a full time worker is not a great impost for hours worked over the 38 hours when those extra hours don't attract those extra costs. .

    I am assuming, of course, that there aren't stupid clauses such as "four hours min @ time and a half if a worker works an extra 10 minutes", and I am aware there are many awards with such extortionate clauses in them.

    1.25 for Saturday and 1.5 for Sunday would be a fair compromise for casuals in hospitality. IMHO
