Overtime refers to hours worked over 38 hours.
Most Sat and Sun workers only work 20 hours a week
So how can they possibly be entitled to any overtime or penalty when they have not worked their core hours??
I have a factory that should work 7 days a week 24/7
I have to have 40% more machinery and work a 4 day week to avoid paying penalty rates.
So I have to have 2 million dollars more machinery to avoid being screwed by penalty rates.
Bear in mind I compete with Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore in manufacturing, where they have no OHS, no leave loading, 15% company tax, 5 year rates holiday when you set up, free land, cost to build factory 1/3 of here,' Electricity 1/4 of here,
a truck driver charges $20 to drive 2000klm,
if Shorten gets in, we and all my employees are screwed.
