    @daicosisgod; I'm not sure where you found that figure of 1,600 police short, what I found is via the official Victorian website below:

    2018 Police Numbers: 14,755
    2023 Police Numbers: 15,766
    https://www.police.vic.gov.au/police-number-region

    That's not a loss of 1,600 police, it's an increase of 1,000 police during the last five years [ie. roughly 7%].
