The commandment is actually the one which says:
"Thou shalt not commit adultery."
So coalboy is actually identifying three of the ten commandments. There are lots of editions of bibles these days but that is the same meaning as "Do not be false to themarried relation".
For most of us it is "Do not cheat on your wife." (picastoc translation)
He's very definitely revealing the absolute misunderstanding and misquoting of the bible by Tim Nicholls.
The slogan "love is love" is because in English we have only one word for love but this has not been the case in earlier cultures.
"Sanskrit has 96 words for love; ancient Persian has 80, Greek three, and English only one. ..."
We say we love our job, love our family, love our dog, love our friends, love icecream, love our husband........ so love is used in English to mean very different things. "Love is love" is too glib by half and we are entitled to consider that (as in SSM) much as we do when we hear what/who is being loved. By that "love is love" is about as meaningless as it gets because the listener needs to hear what and who is being "loved" before we understand the type of love.
