Can you explain how they sell fake shares and how the circular trading works?
I understand the fundamental concept of shorting, which requires a lender to loan shares to a party who then sell them into the market to buy them back lower, returning the principal amount to the lender and profiting with the surplus minus the loan fee (if successfully predicting a sufficient drop in price).
How does selling fake shares work into this, what is the process behind circular trading and if it’s not above board how are they getting away with it?
