In Indonesia, the most populous Muslim-majority country and probably one of the most liberal, it is clear that a significant number of people are converting to Christianity. Some people toss around the number of 2 million per year, which is massive. It is hard to get a reliable number, because, despite Indonesia’s liberal laws, people often hide their conversion because of social fears. Also, despite the liberal laws on the books at the national level, local authorities are actively using their power to try to push back against the growth of Christianity.
