Earlier in the year Data #3 announced that it would be buying out 'Discovery Technology', which specialize in WIFI Location Analytics, as well as providing a means for advertising and data capture through large public WIFI networks (such as airports and hospitals etc.)
I'd like to see if any investors or watchers are as interested in this as I am?
I think the potential for marketing and advertising through WIFI networks is truly huge. Imagine an entirely free WIFI network in the major capital cities of Australia, and imagine the advertising revenue that could be generated through such a network? Potentially the only thing stopping this is Telstra!
Either way this new technology, along with the ability to track down someone on your WIFI network seems like a fantastic step in the right direction.
This business has a huge amount of revenue, and surely it is working hard towards increasing margins in its traditional IT business, but if this WIFI technology really takes off, Data #3 could be worth a lot more than 68c!
