    The most convincing argument, I found, for a dividend for S/ H, is that directors often have large holdings if they don't pay S/H out a dividend and the SP goes down they got nothing out of their (often egregious) efforts.

    I might be cynical but I've seen it often enough to be aware of it.

    Then there's the issue of needing to pay to exercise numerous cheap options and not wanting full tax on high salaried income.

    I never have to make the argument to them they disclose it to me in an indirect way. I just have to listen empathically!

    All IMVHO.

    BTW : I haven't been able to get in with the "If you can't beat 'em join 'em" (yet). Well for a public Co. anyway.
