For some reason Indonesia is floating all the stories about how they want to form a cartel on Battery metals, another cartel on Rain forest. this one on Sn. That's apart from Jokowi's rush trip to see Putin to beg him to come to the G20 followed by the current one that he's not coming so could anyone who was staying away because he stinks please come.

Coupled with the fact that they're selling as much dirty low calorific coal and expending production of it as much as possible.
They're hard to take seriously.

The fact of the matter is Indonesia has proportionately almost as much oil resources as it has thermal coal,. However, they've done such a bad, corrupt mismanaged job with it that the stuff is largely shut in and Indonesia often has riots when the subsidy on oil for cooking ( kerosene) is reduced.

The may produce more Sn from placer deposits but it's likely to be done by inefficient, corrupt and unmanaged methods by absolutely damaging to the environment ( often like Au mining in the rain forests of Brazil and Central Africa).
